LISA K WOLD

Testimonials

Parent of a Student

“I was looking for a high-quality piano instructor for our two children. Having played piano competitively growing up and in college, I understand the importance of not just playing the piano but also understanding music theory. I wanted a teacher who could teach our children both aspects of the instrument. I am impressed with the instruction and progress our kids have made with Lisa. What stands out to me more than anything, however, is Lisa’s kindness with our children. She has that special combination of technical expertise and warmly relating to children that have made her the perfect teacher for our kids.”

“Our son Reid has been taking lessons from Lisa for a little over two years. He just turned 9 and his piano abilities are progressing better than we ever expected. Beyond his love of playing the instrument, he very much enjoys going to his weekly lessons as part of his routine. Her teaching methodology makes it both challenging and fun for the kids.

Reid is constantly playing the piano at home and rarely has to be reminded to practice. A testament to him being taught in a way that has held his interest since he began.

While the cost of the weekly 45 minute lessons is not trivial, we feel that it is money well spent. Other teachers may very well be less costly, but this is definitely a situation where you get what you pay for. I cannot recommend Lisa enough to any parent looking for an exceptional teacher. While I’m ordinarily pretty frugal, I have no issue whatsoever with the cost of his tuition fees.

During this past week’s annual recital, it was evident that all of Lisa’s students are having the same positive experience with her that Reid is. The quality of the performances by every single child was amazing. Just as in past years, I was blown away with all of the pieces that were played.”

“Nathaniel attended piano lessons for 11 years. Under Lisa’s tutelage, music became a passion for him and a primary means of expression. Lisa guided him from Bartok to composing his own music. Like any growing kid, he had enthusiasms that waxed and waned, but he never stopped looking forward to his lesson with Lisa.”

“I have been pleasantly surprised that my daughter has not only learned to read notes, but has a real sense of tempo. I attribute that sense for timing to Lisa’s unique curriculum. “

“We have been doing lessons with Lisa for 5 years, and she makes piano lessons fun while also expects progress and learning from my kids. My kids love her range of music (one prefers classical composers, another prefers Russian composers). I never thought after 4 years of lessons, my son would be playing Chopin!”

“The ways in which Lisa provides a basis for understanding the fundamentals of piano, and doing so while making it enjoyable, are what make the difference with Lisa’s teaching methodology. It is well thought-out, it incorporates everyday items and words to teach abstract concepts, and it is an overall encouraging method that builds upon each step along the way. Lisa knows her stuff, and it shows in the results of her students and of her teaching material and methodology.”
